Ben has focused for 23+ years on private investment opportunities primarily in venture capital. In 2009, Ben co-founded Tenaya Capital, which is an early-growth stage venture capital firm. At Tenaya, he focuses on global consumer and related investments, with an emphasis on vertical applications and network effect businesses. He’s had 14 successful exits: BaiHe, Baixing, eBureau, Endeca, Eventbrite, Kayak, Lyft, PlanGrid, PowerReviews, Qunar, SideStep, Tru-Signal, Tenor, and ThreatMetrix. His active investments include: ApartmentList, BianLiFeng, Included Health, Kargo, OfferUp, ResearchGate, Wag, and Wrench. Of these, Ben currently is on the Board of ResearchGate and Wrench
Ben also co-founded R-Zero in 2020 and is currently a Board Member. R-Zero provides Sustainable Healthy Buildings Infrastructure that spans occupancy sensors/analytics and disinfection solutions utilizing UV-C light. UV-C disinfection is one of the most effective, efficient, and sustainable mechanisms of infection prevention on the market. R-Zero combines UV-C with a one-of-a-kind, connected IoT platform to make the invisible disinfection process visible
